on a Californian beach
Where the past and present
meet
What were the chances of
seeing you
In another place

I sat down at a table
And ordered a glass of wine
A fine Merlot
I glanced round
And saw your face

As I sipped the wine  while
walking on the sands of time
Thirty years have passed
and now it seems
Like only yesterday

I watched you eat
and drink and laugh
Courage-I had none
To say Hello
You looked right through me
Not seeing me not recognising
She was young and pretty
in a naive kind of way
Huge eyes, sparkling teeth
And full pouting lips
She hung on to your
every word
Her idol of course

I left the Merlot
  (unheard of)
And followed you
I watched you take photo's
Talk to friends
Courage-I had none
to say hello
You looked right through
me-not seeing me
Not recognising

What did I expect after

You age and change alot

I followed you hypnotised
watching you both
Continue with your day
I kept remembering it
